Insurance Accounting Associate Jobs

Manage and process all invoices and payments for all development projects.

Enter all sales contracts and sale proceeds statements from home purchasers.

Assist the VP of Finance with regular reporting to banks and other financial institutions.

2+ years of accounting experience

Collect and record receipt of all invoices, and statements, matching PO’s & CO’s.

Process all change orders, purchase orders and unit upgrades through the accounting software.

Experience in Management Accounting (i.e. understanding of entries/double entries in finance)

1-2 years of finance and accounting experience

Manage and complete daily tasks (vendor, customer setups & project creations)

Support and assist in data entry tasks (payroll, warranty, etc)

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Assist the Manager or coworkers with any other tasks or job duties that may be required.

Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax preparation is a plus.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Strong project management, relationship building and communication skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

4+ years of experience in public accounting

Experience in real estate and/or nonprofits preferred

Prior experience with CCH software products (Axcess Tax, Engagement, Document) is a plus

Planning, supervising, reviewing and completing engagements

You will report to the Divisional Accounting Manager based in British Columbia, Canada.

Ø Prepare Sales Order profitability report and distribute to sales department, accounting manager and VP Flexible Packaging.

A Sample of the Daily Duties

Ø Perform inventory cost and quantity adjustments to facilitate shipping and accurate gross profit margin

Ø In charge of all intercompany sales between Flexible Films Canada and Flexible Films USA.

Report on Salesforce opportunities, activity management and sales results

Related post-secondary education (i.e. business, economics, psychology, sociology, etc.)

LLQP or financial services experience is an asset

Prepare for and help execute special events and campaigns

Implement operational and sales support tactics

Facilitate weekly team meetings with your sales partners to work on sales growth initiatives

Report to and update management on any credit issues and concerns

Strong accounting concept and reconciliation skills

A minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting roleand similar position and experienced in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be as asset.

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Recommend acceptance and payment terms for new customers

Reconcile records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.

Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.

Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures including open market purchasing and formal contracting and negotiating techniques.

Manage PO process, receive and verify invoices against approved PO and packing slips for goods and services;

Data entry into the accounting system.

Comply with the government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts, as well economic concepts.

Strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills.

Background in corporate credit analysis and/or knowledge of insurance industry is a plus, but not required

Solid communication skills, verbal and written

More than 3 years working in a financial industry setting

MBA and/or CFA is a plus, but not required

Intermediate level Accounting, Finance and Analysis skills

Strong creative problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and requests will be essential

Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent written and oral communication

Advanced organization, accuracy and administrative skills to ensure and maintain a high level of data integrity

Strong ability to manage time and priorities in a deadline driven and fast-paced environment

Accounting Diploma, Degree, or equivalent experience

Protect client interests and conserve block of business by dedicated policy management through oversight and communication of service requirements

Follow existing policies and procedures; maintain a culture of risk management and control

Process and facilitate new business for EPAs, Investment Advisors, Portfolio Managers and Financial Planners

Three (3) or more years of service experience in the life insurance industry, in an administrative sales supporting role

For positions in Quebec, Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) must be attained within first 12 months in role

Strong communication skills with the ability to build links and work in a group as well as independently

Issue AR invoices and handles administrative aspects of the billing which include sending reminders, receipts, and correspondences.

Process daily bank deposit transactions and reconcile payments in an accurate and timely matter.

Support franchise royalty admin as required.

Prepare bi-weekly employee expense reimbursement.

Assist in finance transformation projects;

Strong knowledge of accounting principles including accruals, asset capitalization, and revenue recognition.

Record banking and credit card transactions;

Prepare customer invoices and follow up on collections based on client business rules;

Record supplier bills and process vendor payments based on client business rules;

Record revenue and expenses in client books based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) applicable to each client;

Knowledge and experience with SAP software

Provide support to other accounting staff members when required and it is within your knowledge base

Minimum of 3+ years of of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience in the manufacturing industry

Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills

Working towards or attained CPA certification
