JOB TITLE: Accounting A

JOB PURPOSE: Assist in activities for the Rust-Oleum Canada (ROCA) Finance department.

DEPARTMENT: Finance

REPORTS TO: Senior Divisional Controller

STATUS: Regular, Full Time

TRAVEL: None

LOCATION: Concord, ON

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:

As a mid-level position, this role will require a candidate who is analytical, well organized, detail oriented, highly motivated, and results oriented. Candidates will need to possess excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. As well, the ability to provide high quality work with minimum supervision is a must.Proven ability to learn new software programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop weekly forecast of sales and operating income
• Assist on the month end close process
• Participation in other activities and projects as assigned
• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual Variance analysis
• Assist on monthly account reconciliations
• Assist in setting annual plans

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

• Intermediate level Accounting, Finance and Analysis skills
• Ability to work independently with a positive attitude and persistent aptitude for following up with external clients
• Advanced organization, accuracy and administrative skills to ensure and maintain a high level of data integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent written and oral communication
• Ability to work well under pressure and work extra hours when needed to complete requests and projects
• Strong ability to manage time and priorities in a deadline driven and fast-paced environment
• Capable of good tact, judgment and diplomacy in handling communication with customers and internal clients
• Strong creative problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and requests will be essential

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years’ experience in Accounting
• 2+ years’ experience with SAP would be considered a strong asset
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in MS Office applications including Excel, Word and Power point are required
• Accounting Diploma, Degree, or equivalent experience
