Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly bank reconciliation and perform necessary general journal entries.
• Coordinate and assist in the review of monthly forecasting.
• Responsible for accurate, timely coordination, collection, compilation, and review of financial reports.
• Manage and file all government remittances, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Undertake special projects as assigned by management.
• Oversee purchase orders and ensure effective inventory control.
• Prepare accurate payroll and handle related government remittances.
• Efficiently manage both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Collaborate with the project management team to develop job cost summary schedules and oversee weekly cost analysis and cash flow management.
• Create reports for year-end audits, reviews, and tax returns.
• Provide guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
• Assist in interim reporting for banking and bonding purposes, such as work-in-progress reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with audits.
• Experience in the construction or related industry is preferred.
• Experience processing weekly payroll for an salaried/hourly/unionized environment
• Self motivated and works well in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Working knowledge of percentage completion accounting for construction contracts is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational and planning abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
