Accounting Associate - Manufacturing
Our client, a leading manufacturing company in the Cambridge area, is looking for an Accounting Associate to join their dynamic and hardworking team. This position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to be a part of an industry leader and contribute to the business’s growing success.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, cash management, payroll, and other general ledger and financial activities. Further, they will work closely with other departments, including management, operations, accounting and customer service.
The ideal candidate is a professional and organized individual with several years of experience in an accounting related role. They also must have working knowledge of accounting principles, due diligence, general ledger, budgeting and financial reports. A bachelor’s degree in accounting is considered an asset. Furthermore, excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills are essential for the role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll accounting and reconciliations
- Resolve disputed customer accounts in a timely and efficient manner
- Reconcile bank statements for accuracy and ensure proper documentation
- Provide support to other accounting staff members when required and it is within your knowledge base
- Act as primary Accounts Receivable, collecting payments from customers in a timely manner
- Provide accounting support for the organization, ensuring accurate and timely collections and payments
- Monitor credit card transactions and ensure policy is complied with
- Prepare, review and code invoices for proper entry into the Accounts Payable system
- Backup Accounts Payable when necessary
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple assignments, and work well under tight deadlines
- Working towards or attained CPA certification
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
- Minimum of 3+ years of of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience in the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge and experience with SAP software
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
