What you’ll be doing

The Financial Analyst, Accounting's role includes managing end to end intercompany billing and settlement processes, facilitating funding, clearing and reconciliation of various bank and suspense accounts. The role applies basic theories, skills, and practices to prepare and review routine accounting entries and support schedules according to control procedures to adhere to regulatory guidelines. The Analyst uses judgement to resolve month-end issues in the general ledger to ensure correct reporting as well as supporting offshore team for outsourced processes.

How You’ll Succeed

• Relationship management – You have good communication, teamwork, partnership and relationship building skills sufficient to act in a collaborative manner with team members and stakeholders from different backgrounds and experiences. You will liaise regularly with various Line of Businesses and Functional Groups.
• Agility – You support agile accounting processes and controls to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Ensure changes in accounting policies/requirements are implemented in a controlled manner. Maintain up to date desk top procedures in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements, SOX, and Internal Controls.
• Accounting and controls – You have knowledge of general accounting policies and practices and good business and analytical skills to assess and interpret business needs. You have good understanding of CIBC Financial Control framework to support and ensure integrity of financial data.
