Senior Accounting Consultant Jobs

Our client, a growing accounting firm based out of the GTA with offices in downtown Toronto and Mississauga is looking for a Sr. Accounting Consultant to join their growing assurance practice. As a senior member of the assurance team, you will work closely with the partners and other senior members on leading assurance engagements, review & NTR engagements and tax compliance and filings. You will excel in effective internal and external communication and will have a willingness to drive business development with current and future clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff on pre-audit planning and field work for engagements, reviewing client accounting and operating procedures.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities for additional services.
• Assist clients with corporate tax planning, preparation, and compliance, ensuring adherence to Canadian tax laws and regulations.
• Deliver quality audits and other services to public and privately owned middle-market companies, not-for-profit organizations and governmental agencies.
• Perform internal control testing and planning to support an audit opinion, including: preparing supporting work paper documentation, conducting analytical reviews of account balances and preparing financial statements.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide both leadership and supervision to Audit Staff.
• Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities.
• Manage the preparation and filing of taxes for individuals and businesses, including T1, T2, T4’s and other relevant forms

Qualifications

• Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth.
• Strength in time‐management and self‐motivation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA designation (or in-progress) with a minimum of 1-2 years within assurance in a Public Accounting firm.
• Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.
