As an Industrial Technological Benefits (ITB) Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the execution of ITB Policy for major shipbuilding and ship repair programs. This can include tasks such as assisting with sourcing of Canadian suppliers, educating program and project teams on the ITB Policy requirements, and advising on contracting with potential suppliers/subcontractors.


More specifically you will;


  • Prepare ITB/VP reports for review by senior management or submittal to ISED/third parties;
  • Occasionally travel to industry events or meetings within Canada.
  • Develop the ITB achievement strategy for their assigned program(s), and report on this strategy throughout program execution. This includes the development of ITB management and VP plans for bid submission;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Davie’s ITB management processes;
  • Be the subject matter expert for Industrial Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy and Value Proposition (VP) for shipbuilding/ship repair programs;
  • Identify and qualify indirect transactions for presentation to senior management for investment;
  • Assist with contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors with respect to ITB commitments;
  • Manage relationships with eligible parties to ensure that their ITB/VP obligations are achieved;
  • Liaise with Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) to develop new qualifying ITB/VP transactions;
  • Educate and build awareness, both internally and externally, on the program and its impacts;
  • Assist with sourcing of Canadian suppliers and strengthening the Canadian shipbuilding supply chain, including educating suppliers on ITB obligations and assisting them in complying with the ITB policy;


Qualifications


  • Expert knowledge of best practices in ITB/VP management and related Government of Canada policies;
  • Demonstrate ability to investigate sources of components, materials and other shipbuilding and ship repair accessories.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Functionally bilingual (essential);
  • Five (5) years of experience in the ITB/VP field;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong organizational skills;
  • Experience in the maritime field is an asset;
  • Demonstrate autonomy;
