Job Description
At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The opportunity

EY has an established industry leading Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Practice. We help clients determine the right deal to do, and then assist them in doing the deal right. We are a growing practice that has the resources to serve any client, anywhere in the world. You will have the opportunity to develop your career in a friendly, collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment through a broad scope of engagements, mentoring and formal learning. Our team is gender and culturally diverse, and we welcome people from a range of professional backgrounds, who share a passion for infrastructure delivery. We develop outstanding leaders who team to deliver on our promises to all our stakeholders, and in so doing, play a critical role in building a better working world for our people, for our clients and for our communities.

We advise through the full lifecycle of core infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships across Canada and globally, from strategy, policy and business case development, transactions, ongoing asset management, renewal and disposal. Our work is across asset classes including transportation (e.g., transit, highways, airports), healthcare, environment (e.g., waste), energy, mining, social infrastructure, schools, and various federal facilities.

Our practice is trusted by public sector ministries and agencies, as well as by private sector bidders, for its expertise in strategy and business case development, commercial and risk advisory, financing, transaction structuring, modeling and management of procurement processes, as well as for advising through the full infrastructure lifecycle. We are regularly named by our industry peers as Infrastructure Financial Advisor of the Year in Canada, the Americas and globally.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Analyst or Associate, you will have the opportunity to work within our SaT Infrastructure Advisory practice. You will have an integral role that involves working closely with other members of the rapidly growing national Infrastructure Advisory team to execute a variety of engagements related to the planning, development, delivery and operations of major infrastructure projects.

  • Able to research and analyze information from a range of sources including financial, commercial, public policy, academic and industry sources to be used in competitive analysis, industry analysis, financial and non-financial scenario analysis and negotiation support, and various other applications
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, and flexible in your approach to supporting clients, and working with different stakeholders
  • An analytical and creative thinker, who is self-motivated and intellectually curious
  • Self-motivated and trusted to deliver. You are organized with strong self and team management skills, and able to simultaneously manage and execute on multiple assignments
  • Able to competently undertake thoughtful quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, with a willingness to learn or develop your analytical skills, and a strong level of technological literacy, including the construction of complex financial models
  • Seeking a dynamic role with a mix of strategy, policy, commercial and financial and technical advisory

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Strong interest in support the development and delivery of a broad range of critical infrastructure

  • Analyst: 2+ years of work experience in an infrastructure related field or relevant experience in commercial, financial, economic, strategic, and/or infrastructure policy analysis
