As an Financial Advisory Assistant, you will be tasked with helping the professionals in IJW & Co.'s Valuation Practice ensure the smooth completion of various mandates including: the creation of valuation reports and presentations, litigation-support reports, and corporate finance advisory materials. This professional will provide support to the practice by way of reviewing financial statements and various documents and entering data into Excel, performing research across a set of five databases, and drafting reports. As part of the valuation group, you will also gain exposure to working with individuals from the firm's M&A practice. A team approach to executing valuation research, financial modeling, and various reporting assignments is designed to provide progressive, on-the-job training. As such, while a experience in finance and accounting is an asset, this role will be most successfully filled by an individual with a positive attitude who has an extremely high level of attention to details and is willing to become an expert at doing certain specific tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and interpret materials provided by valuation and M&A clients such as financial models and statements, legal documents, and corporate documents, among others
identify and extract pre-defined data from the set of data provided by the client
Review materials provided by clients in order to ensure that all required materials are present and to ensure that clients understand the status of their mandate
Communicate with clients in order to understand their needs, deadlines, concerns and other considerations that impact the success of a mandate
Assist senior bankers (VPs and MDs) on client coverage initiatives
Supporting end-to-end client transactions
Being responsible for monitoring and evaluating current events, valuation and other financial information on the clients of the group
Conduct industry and market research
Maintain firm’s databases and CRM (MadeMarket)
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Ability to manage projects independently and be ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of the team
Detail oriented, organized, pro-active, intellectual curiosity
Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgement
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Intermediate accounting and finance knowledge is an asset but not a requirement
