Job Description

The Human Resources Director (HRD) provides Human Resources leadership and support to one or more of the Company’s operating divisions. The HRD establishes and/or implements policies, procedures, and practices that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, quality, productivity, standards, and goal attainment.

Responsibilities

  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
  • Assist with maintenance, coordination, and communication of employee recognition programs.
  • Facilitate and/or provide training (including orientation) to both community department directors and the broader workforce, as necessary. This includes, but is not limited to, training related to frontline staff, pre-employment screenings, use of Company systems, and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with operational leaders to create and implement action plans resulting from Employee Satisfaction Survey results.
  • Respond to and investigate employee relations issues such as employee complaints/ethic calls, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints, working with the Legal department for direction as appropriate.
  • Proactively communicate and consult with functional area and field senior leadership on issues related to Human Resources.
  • Assist in onboarding of new community employees by completing tasks including, but not limited to, presenting new hire orientation outlining employee expectations, conducting benefit discussions, and assisting with interviews and completion of employee screenings.
  • Partner with operational leaders to reduce employee turnover, improve employee satisfaction survey scores, champion employee engagement, and promote employee development, etc.
  • Coach and counsel communities regarding employee corrective actions and continuous employee improvement.
  • In partnership with functional area and field senior leadership, develop and communicate Human Resources policies and procedures that are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with processing of employee appeals, which includes, among other things, conducting investigations and interviewing relevant staff and others.
  • Review and support community compliance with Company policies.
  • Conduct candidate interviews for key positions, such as Executive Directors, as appropriate.
  • Plan and facilitate leadership training for community leadership.



Qualifications

  • Human Resources business partner experience.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment and labor laws.
  • Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Master’s degree or PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Will be required to travel up to 85% of the time on behalf of the Company.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Employee Relations.
  • Travel time is subject to change based on business needs.
  • Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Company motor vehicle policy standards and Travel Policy.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Multi-state/location experience essential.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite required.
