As an integral part of the “we can do that” operation, this position is responsible is responsible to effectively and profitably manage the sales department and operations of the business.. Specifically:
- Work closely with Sales Consultants and Finance & Insurance Managers, coaching and improving performance relating to vehicle and product sales, including vehicle trade-in opportunities
- Establish department objectives and pursue them through planning, organizing, controlling and measuring performance
- Organize responsibilities with the Finance & Insurance and Lease Renewal sub-department staff members to ensure proper maintenance of all records and analyses
- Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
- Provide leadership, guidance and feedback to help staff members strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
- Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures and key performance goals
- Aid in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions, and monitor effectiveness
- Lead the ongoing management, training and development of sales staff
- Review departmental activity and daily operating report with Management Tean
- Review and improve operational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing departments and employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
- With the General Manager, prepare and manage the departmental budget
- Assist Sales Consultants in vehicle sales transactions
- Develop and implement strategic plans for optimized sales
- Manage expense control
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in vehicle sales and oeprational management, including:
- A desire to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency working with inventory and customer relationship management systems (ie. OneEighty, DealerTrack)
- Proficiency working with ERP systems (ie. CDK/Reynolds)
- Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- 5 or more years proven experience as a Dealership Sales Manager
- Strong business accumen
- 5 years experience developing and managing performance of a Team of staff
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
- A proven commitment to quality of work
- Strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
- Ability to maintain professionalism
- Self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
- Valid OMVIC and Driver's Licence in good standing
