Distribution Manager Jobs

Our client in the food manufacturing industry is seeking a Distribution Manager to join their team in Newmarket, ON.

The Distribution Manager is responsible for leading teams in various functions including receiving, replenishment, shipping, and inventory. Drive performance improvement in key metrics like on-time shipping, accuracy, and efficiency. Foster teamwork, safety, and execute process enhancement projects. Manage staffing and coordinate distribution across facilities and departments.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customer service to address shipment discrepancies.
• Manage department expenses, review invoices, and ensure budget adherence.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate transfers, and follow customer routing guidelines.
• Provide leadership to supervisors, team leads, and coordinators, ensuring performance standards are met through coaching and feedback.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.
• Lead safety program, conduct inspections, oversee training, and recommend safety improvements.
• Supervise training for associates in two locations, participate in hiring, and maintain contractor relationships.
• Manage daily facility workload, prioritize tasks, and resolve production obstacles.

Qualifications and Skills

• Occasional lifting of cartons up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to move within the distribution center, including climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.
• Post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, or business preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a distribution center.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor), Warehouse Management Systems, and Shipping Systems.
