Accounting Manager Jobs

Our Client is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to add to the finance team. They are looking for an individual with high integrity, vision, strong interpersonal relations skills and outstanding time management skills to take on the role of Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will report to our Client’s Canada Controller and will serve as an integral member of the Accounting Team. The role will include preparing and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial reporting, as well as overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of the business. This role with have two direct reports; the Accounts Payable Clerk, and Accounting Coordinator. As a team they will work closely with the Operations team to manage all finance, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and other corporate functions.
Your success will be determined by your ability to

• Manage the financial functions, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and analysis for two limited partnerships
• Oversee Cash management of multiple bank accounts, including cash forecasting and transfers
• Coordinate preparation for review engagements, ensuring proper maintenance of accounting records and documentation are in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies
• Support Operations in their mandate to improve financial results, where feasible
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Controller and other management
• Oversee the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Execute the financial management of $40M liquidity over 18-24 months including property dispositions, capital distributions, and investor communications
• Update written documentation of processes and procedures
• Coordinate preparation of annual tax filing requirements, internally and externally prepared, including T5013s
• Oversee the Bi-weekly payment run, review and approval
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financials and deliver reports to Controller and Executive Team with timely and accurate information

Your strengths include

• Degree in Business or Accounting is mandatory
• Ability to mentor and develop staff members on the accounting team using a supporting and collaborative approach
• Monitoring staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and conduct annual performance reviews
• CPA designation
• Prior experience with fund liquidations and investor communications would be an asset
• Full Cycle Accounting and budgeting experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting position, and 2 years experience managing employees
