As a Department Manager at H&M, you will spend 80% of your time where it all happens – on the shop floor. You are responsible for supporting the sales & profit goals by setting a plan for your department to deliver the best customer experience in line with your store. As a Department Manager at H&M you are:

  • Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and motivating others to create the best customer experience.

  • Ensure store operations and best practice are followed in your department and throughout the store.

Located in the historic Hudson’s Bay building in downtown Calgary, The Guild is open for all-day dining, drinks and private events. Spanning two floors and featuring one of Calgary’s largest patios, The Guild is a nod to the guildhalls of the past, which served as meeting places for artists and merchants!

The Day to Day:


  • You’re a pro at first impressions and welcome each guest warmly and with enthusiasm
  • You’re accurate and precise when entering information into the POS system ensuring communications are clear for the BOH team
  • You able to respond promptly and courteously to any guest request or concern
  • You value organization and structure and utilize seat-specific ordering so to not auction food when it is delivered to the table
  • You take pride in your work space and monitor the cleanliness of section
  • You keenly follow all food safety standards and systems
  • You’re aware of your surroundings and offer a helping hand to all guests whenever needed
  • You’re enthusiastic about our offerings and share your menu knowledgeable in order to make best recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned or required
  • You love to go above and beyond for special requests or celebrations and take food preferences and guest allergies seriously
Qualifications


  • Experience analysing commercial reports and formulating plans to maximize sales. 
  • Previous leadership experience in a similar role with proven results in driving commercial KPIs and team development.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and relationship building skills.
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on the needs of our fast-paced business.
  • The ability to delegate, follow up and provide straightforward feedback with the goal to coach and develop your team.

Qualifications


  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • At least 2 years serving experience in a similar environment
  • Smart Serve Certification a requirement
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High level of product knowledge
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
  • Ability to lift/ carry furniture
  • Organizational skills and sales ability
  • Ability to multi-task
