Job Description
Trevor Frances Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Accounting on behalf of our esteemed client. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Newmarket, Ontario. As the Manager of Accounting, you will be responsible for various accounting duties and maintaining financial records for our client's organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and remit monthly HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) payments.
  • Calculate and remit ROE (Record of Employment) forms.
  • Enter general ledger (GL) entries accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage intercompany transactions.
  • Enter AP (Accounts Payable) invoices into the system.
  • Perform bank and ledger reconciliation for multiple currencies across two businesses.
  • Maintain and update monthly statements.
  • Complete WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) quarterly remittances.
  • Maintain payroll functions in QuickBooks Desktop, including government remittances and related forms.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for management review, identifying and addressing any errors or anomalies.


Skills:


  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks payroll.
  • Proficiency in Tecsys Streamline, Telpay for Business Software, QuickBooks Desktop, and Office 365.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Crystal Reports, and Pivot Tables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field, with a minimum of three to five years of accounting experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.


+5 years of accounting experience preferred.
