Director Of Accounting Jobs

David Aplin Group, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for the permanent position of Director of Accounting, located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trust accounting functions and provide backup support as needed.
• Initiate and participate in the annual budget process.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as well as ad hoc reports for management.
• Prepare and submit monthly GST filings and remittances.
• Maintain the general ledger and sub ledgers, including detailed reporting on revenues and accounts receivable, work in progress, and lockup billing.
• Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Accounting will effectively manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.
• Manage operational cash flow, including daily cash reporting, monthly reconciliations, and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Accounting designation (CPA), or equivalent work experience
• Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships at all levels within the organization.
• Experience working in a professional services environment is an asset
• Experience with eBilling platforms and ability to learn and utilize new technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Excel including V lookup and pivot tables
• Previous experience with team leadership and mentoring
