nVent Thermal Management is the global leader in providing turnkey heat management solutions through our RAYCHEM and TRACER brands.

Due to continued growth and success, we are looking to add a Field Engineer to our team on a 12 month temporary basis in either Edmonton or Fort McMurray, AB

What You Will Experince In This Position

• Conduct technical design assessments, constructability reviews, and field installation reliability appraisals for supplemental heat management systems.
• Use client and nVent document systems to access information.
• Proactively establish customer and contractor relationships at appropriate levels and manage client expectations relative to technical execution methodologies, scope, schedule, progress, and technical change management.
• Prepare pro forma electric heat trace (EHT) designs for quotations and engineering.
• Ensure that EHT design and construction work at site complies with client standards, legislated requirements, and applicable industrial standards.
• Perform small drafting edits in Microstation and/or AutoCAD.
• Provide field engineering support for design, construction, maintenance, programming, and operations of electric heat tracing circuits.
• Ability to perform field audits of deficient EHT and provided recommended solutions including power distribution, insulation and EHT.
• Provide practical solutions to construction field RFI's.
• Perform field checks in live Operating plant following all nVent and client safety and permit protocols. Inspection could be at heights.

You Have

• Professional engineering license or equivalent (P. Eng or PL Eng.)
• Knowledge of heat management systems and general electrical projects would be a definite asset.
• Experience with Electric Heat Trace would be an asset.
• Oil sands experience would be an asset.
• Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project estimating; project management / coordination; planning, scheduling & cost control; or finance.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 and Excel are required.
• Maintenance, project, construction, and/or operations experience at an operating petrochemical facility or a heavy industrial site is a distinct asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
