We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer for Refrigeration business to fulfill the role of a responsive and trusted advisor for heat transfer solutions for Alfa Laval’s Local Key Customers, system builders, contractors and Consulting Engineers in Industrial, Commercial Refrigeration and Heat Pump Industry in Canada. Ensure Alfa Laval is the specified supplier on the tender RFQ documents/ inquiries.

Job Responsibilities

• Promote the real-life benefits of Alfa Laval’s branded features for Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers and Brazed and Bonded Heat Exchangers, and industry standards in the target industry segments, to ensure that Alfa Laval is the specified and preferred heat exchanger supplier on the end users, contractor/ customer tender documents.
• Assist the other members of the Energy Equipment HEX team in a supporting or backup role as needed.
• Providing required technical support when requested during claims and field service issues including site visits.
• Review requests, prepare configurations and offers using Alfa Laval’s in-house computer applications.
• Assist in the implementation of Alfa Laval’s online customer aid tools that can assist individuals in the above customer base who wish to be able to work independently (e.g. Anytime, Product Guide, BIM Object files and others).
• Provide a prompt and accurate service response to customers, contractors, system builders and consulting engineers in Refrigeration and Heat pump industry, who wish to have configurations/offers made for them. Includes preparation of configurations and quotes, revisions thereof and taking in-depth discussions on various options, and the advantages and disadvantages for each.
• Act as a trusted advisor for Alfa Laval’s direct-buying Key Accounts, consultants, contractors and business partners.
• Any other work assigned by your manager to support the activities and grow the business for the department.

Education, Experience And Certification/Registration Desired

• Communication skills.
• 5-10 years post-education.
• Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:
• Knowledge of heat transfer products in Refrigeration and heat pump sector.
• Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist diploma. Preference (though not mandatory) for Mechanical or Refrigeration/ Chemical disciplines / competencies.
• Insight / experience into the Refrigeration and Heat pumps industry including system engineering knowledge.
• Type and Length of Experience:
• Ability to build relationships and managing key accounts.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

• Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use):
• Must be able to work in an office environment.
• None of significance. Work will almost exclusively be office-based, with occasional travel to client offices, and sites in building mechanical rooms.
• Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure):

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (i.e., Travel, Motor Vehicle Use, Etc.)

• Preferred to have a valid driver’s license in home province (car/passenger vehicle only), and the ability to travel by airplane.
• Occasional travel up to 30% locally and within Canada with occasional travel to USA & Europe.
