$102,900.00 - $136,700.11 annually
The Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation manages government services that help support and maintain the strong and diverse economy that British Columbians need for long-term prosperity. It supports the growth of B.C.’s tech sector, champions innovation across the economy, nurtures small businesses, supports economic development throughout the province, and promotes B.C. internationally as a preferred place to invest and do business.
As the Director, Global Markets, you will lead the implementation of BC’s international trade and investment activities outside of British Columbia, including oversight of market development and business relationship management for priority countries and regions through a network of overseas offices, and support government missions and delegations travelling for economic development, investment and international trade purposes. You will also direct a team of approximately 45 BC-based and international staff including Trade and Investment Representatives network in the province’s 19 global offices.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Experience in leading and supervising geographically dispersed teams of professional staff / contractors including developing and evaluating performance goals, coaching, team-building, and mentoring.
- University degree and a minimum of four (4) years of recent, related, senior level experience in the following:
- Experience developing financial forecasts and managing financial resources.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in leading, developing, and implementing policies, practices, service standards and business effectiveness planning and measurement
- Experience building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., international, federal, provincial, and local governments, First Nations, industry representatives).
