The Strategic Cost Management (SCM) team drives both a continued focus on cost efficiency as well as helping driving productivity across all of Manulife’s businesses. Expense efficiency is one of Manulife’s five key priorities, and it is closely linked to other core priorities, including the company’s digital and customer ambitions.


The Director of Enterprise Productivity mobilizes resources across the team and beyond to diagnose, develop solutions, and to implement business initiatives, remove barriers to change, and fulfill management deliverables. They will own the execution and coordination of all key activities of the project team.


Responsibilities


  • Facilitate alignment and consensus on future state and mobilizes organization for execution.
  • Remove resistance and handle partners.
  • Develop business cases for initiatives, quantify outcomes.
  • Plan and develop processes critical to the evolution of the team.
  • Supervise all issues, decisions and actions.
  • Ensure that systems, procedures and controls are in place to reduce business risks and produce operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinate the Leadership Team and other strategic meetings inclusive of management off-sites.
  • Lead co-creation of future state and solutions with partners.
  • Drive alignment on problem to be solved and on intended outcomes with partners.
  • Perform change readiness assessments, identify readiness gaps and put solutions in place to close them.
  • Build, supervise and report on Financials relevant to the initiative.
  • Perform research of standard methodologies relevant to the initiative.
  • Plan, lead, coordinate and ensure effective execution of agreed initiatives.
  • Support the team in the development of long and short-term business plans and goals, including financial, technical, administration and human capital, to ensure the success of the function.
  • Identify issues call out as required and recommend solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Perform current state diagnosis by analyzing data, processes, organizational structure, and other relevant information.
  • Optimize achievement of intended initiative outcomes, i.e., drive balanced change.


Job Requirements


  • PMP designation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Superior organizational, time and project management skills. Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating and prioritizing challenging business issues.
  • 10+ years of progressive consulting and project management experience
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and influence associates at all levels and at a distance.
  • 5+ years leading execution of large-scale initiatives or programs
  • University degree. MBA or another business-oriented post-graduate education would be an asset.
  • Proven successful critical thinking, policy development and implementation experience.
  • Lean/ Six sigma black belt preferred
  • Highly developed communication, relationship, and personal skills.


Some travel may be required.

Salary & Benefits


The annual base salary for this role is listed below.


Primary Location


Toronto, Ontario


Salary range is expected to be between


$100,500.00 CAD - $180,900.00 CAD
