Compensation Consultant - Ottawa

Our public sector client is seeking a Compensation Consultant on an as-needed, part-time basis to assist in the development of a Pay Equity Plan. The ideal candidate would be bilingual in English and French, with prior experience in leading or co-leading pay equity consulting services, as well as having developed a pay equity plan that meets all legal and organizational requirements.

About the role

The successful candidate will:

• Explain analytical insights results to the pay equity committee
• Draft and prepare the pay equity plan, and assist the committee with publishing the final version
• Create/provide tools to be used by committee members
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of the results
• Determine if any pay gaps apply between the female and male-dominated job classes, what salary adjustments need to be made, and advise the pay equity committee accordingly
• Conduct a review of the current situation, including a preliminary review of available data to identify gaps and risks
• Provide initial and ongoing training, advice and support to enable the committee's understanding and completion of pay equity requirements, tools and activities
• Present applicable job evaluation methods and tailor them to the needs of the department
• Develop a project management plan that addresses the tasks and requirements outlined in the Statement of Work

About you

• Have or are able to acquire Reliability level Security Clearance
• 1+ year of experience in leading or co-leading activities in providing pay equity consulting and services, analyzing job evaluations, and developing a pay equity plan
• Is deadline driven and able to meet deadlines appropriately
• Demonstrate having a gender-neutral job evaluation tool that meets the federal Pay Equity Act requirements
• Must be bilingual in both official languages (English & French)
• 1+ year of experience in defining job classes and gender predominance
