The Sales Compensation and Incentive Senior Analyst is responsible for the execution and administration of our compensation, sales incentive plans and awards programs. Providing reporting on results and investigating commission related inquiries. The successful candidate will leverage analytical skills, customer service, and business acumen in the delivery of compensation payments. The role has a heavy emphasis on managing our sales incentive plans and awards, but it is an opportunity to work with many cross-functional teams from Sales, Sales Development, Strategic Alliances, Marketing, Business Intelligence & Finance.

What You’ll Do


  • Facilitate a steady flow of communication and feedback between Sales and cross functional teams, and deliver best-practice business processes for SOTI sales compensation and incentives
  • Provide reporting and trend analysis for the effectiveness of sales incentive payments to further drive performance
  • Provide recommendations for future VSCP rules and execution
  • Support commission mailbox queries, managing SLAs, investigations, resolution, and escalations
  • Ensure regional legal compliance of all incentive payouts (terminations, contractor requirements, parental leave, EI, etc)
  • Create and update process documentation on Sales Compensation workflows
  • Work with team to help identify and create tracking/reporting protocols for key metrics, and accrued payments (scheduled billing)
  • Liaise with the BI team on generation of required data to ensure accuracy and adherence to attainment logic and feedback for future improvements
  • Liaise with reporting/analytics team (Quota) to flag and align on metrics, role setup and regional assignments per team to update quota accordingly
  • Manage payout of quarterly sales incentive programs and sales awards program for prizes and trips including verification of winners and record management
  • Support team with ad hoc reporting as required across sales compensation activities
  • Lead Commission calculation cycle with management of inputs, adherence to deadlines and execution of payout commitments
  • Provide recommendations on process improvements and roadmap for automation or improved efficiencies
  • Support administration of Xactly commissions tools
  • Assist with the operationalization of the Variable Compensation Sales Incentive Plan (VSCP)
  • Liaise with P&C (People & Culture) regionally to streamline global VSCP, OTE documentation, and performance data for PIPs as required
  • Implement proactive solutions and identify new processes to reduce compensation inquiries and escalations
  • Provide monthly and quarterly commission accrual entries to Finance


Experience You’ll Bring


  • Strong emotional intelligence is an asset to be able to work with varying demographics and to sometimes deliver undesirable messages with regards to payout impact
  • Excellent Excel skills, ability to analyze and cross reference large data sets across various sources (i.e. extensive use of formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
  • Bachelor's degree/college diploma in Finance or another analytical discipline
  • Focus on process improvements and non-acceptance of status quo
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential to ensure the accuracy of data management
  • Agile team player capable of performing in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with prioritization capabilities
  • Experience with compensation structure, commissions, and payout of benefit programs
  • Effective communication skills to explain sales compensation to all levels of the organization from front line employees to the executive leadership team
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Salesforce is an asset.
  • Experience in the SaaS B2B industry an asset
  • 2-3 years of total rewards experience with an emphasis on sales incentive plans
