The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the analysis and administration of compensation programs that support the compensation strategy and ensures that compliance, internal equity and external competitiveness requirements are met.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following
  • Develops and maintains detailed documentation of procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain a grading structure based on company methodology.
  • Participates in external survey submissions and conducts internal ad hoc survey requests, including survey design and results analysis.
  • Maintains variable compensation programs and coordinates payments with payroll.
  • Maintains knowledge of market practices and emerging trends in HR with a focus on Compensation programs.
  • Evaluate existing and proposed jobs and classify them according to their levels of responsibility.
  • Assists and provides support in the annual compensation cycle including market research, creating, and administering merit increase data files, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the compensation process.
  • Conducts analysis and research to ensure compliance with pay equity legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts periodic audits and prepares reports to address concerns and changes to legislation.
  • Provides advice and guidance to leaders, people managers, HR professionals in the interpretation and administration of all compensation programs.
  • Managing the analysis of new positions to determine salary and benefits for the role to maintain internal equity across the organization.
  • Works with the team to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs and processes and continually identify and implement improvements.
  • Gathers market intelligence and identifies emerging compensation trends, preparing reports for recommendations based on research.
  • Supports job evaluation process by conducting job description evaluations according to established criteria, including:
  • Builds compensation metrics, reports, and tools to inform compensation program decisions, forecast costs and trends, and analyze the effectiveness of compensation programs.
  • Maintains and updates the job description database and job evaluation records.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition. Listen and share information clearly and concisely to maintain an environment in which people communicate honestly and openly.
  • Familiar with survey methodology and point-factor job evaluation systems.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a team player mindset and accompanying interpersonal and communication skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders, at varying levels.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude required, and understanding of how an organization function.
  • Ability to deal with complex, sensitive and personal issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Education: University Degree in an appropriate discipline (HR, Business or Finance preferred) or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education
  • Advanced level user of Excel (i.e., pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas)
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledgeable of compensation programs
  • Experience: Over three years of human resources experience, with a focus on compensation and/or benefits and a Professional accreditation preferred (CEBS, CHRP)
