Within the context of strategic direction and the vision and values of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the Capital Finance Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of various financial activities in support of corporate business and organizational transformation initiatives and projects across VCH.

As a Capital Finance Coordinator with Vancouver Coastal Health you will

• Maintain and manage database data integrity – drafts user guide and processes as the lead for the capital planning systems; and
• Prepare and drafts presentations for team reporting for senior organizational leadership.
• Create, monitor and update Certificate of Approval (COA) requests with the Ministry of Health (MOH);
• Coordinate and provide financial oversight of capital budgets and capital project support;
• Participate in the ongoing budgeting processes and redesign in collaboration with VCH Financial Planning and Business Support teams;
• Perform detailed analysis of information including confidential data files, user needs-assessment, and integrated report design and implementation for a range of organizational and departmental projects and initiatives;
• Budget analysis and spend projection;

He/she partners with a wide-range of VCH department representatives, other health authorities, and the MOH on reporting requirements/standardization.

Education & Experience

• Experience with complex financial database systems, project planning and control are essential.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ recent related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field supplemented by related Budgeting and project management courses.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with others in a consultative/collaborative manner.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
• Project management
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Demonstrated computer literacy including ability to use financial information systems and related software.
• Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and persuasively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to change and process management.
• Strong ability to work in a time sensitive, multi-project environment.
• Microsoft office and excel experience – expert level
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
