We are seeking a Construction Projects Resource Coordinator to join us at Syber Concrete Forming. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will allocate staff and resources to projects, optimizing utilization and redeployment. This role is based out of our Head Office and involves collaboration with multiple teams and occasional on-site presence. Your initiative and results-driven approach will be crucial in streamlining resource allocation, maximizing efficiency, and enhancing project performance. Duties and Responsibilities
The Projects Resource Coordinator is required to:
- Promote and monitor an occupational health and safety culture.
- Create, maintain, and post required project documents and files in Procore.
- Work daily with project teams to develop efficient project resourcing plans and monitor the project resource scheduling.
- Collaborate and consult with internal departments on resource management initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, coach, and train personnel as required.
- Recommend additional talent sourcing options including individual referrals.
- Assess project requirements and assign available staff based on their skills and experience.
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability to perform duties outside of the primary area of expertise as required, to meet the needs and goals of the company.
- Advise the HR team on recruitment needs and new staff requirements.
- Respond to unplanned/emergency work outside of the normal work schedule.
- Provide ongoing resource management support to the project teams.
- Communicate relevant project resource information to the project team.
- Document processes and maintain accurate records.
- Lead and conduct weekly/daily team meetings.
- Reallocate resources for projects to cover absenteeism, vacations, training leaves, and all other types of leaves.
- Report resource requirements to effectively onboard new hires and source additional resources to fill deficiencies.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new staff that fall within project budgets.
- Mediate between projects to determine the best resource and labour allocations.
- Proactively address resource concerns by reallocating resources, adjusting goals, or assigning additional staff.
- Monitor and report employee utilization, workload, and overtime hours.
- Stay informed about labor laws and trends in resource management.
Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Human Resources Management, Business, Engineering, or a similar field.
· Experience in construction
· PMP and/or Professional Engineering designation accreditation is an asset.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in Resource Management within a similar industry.
· Proficiency in human resources and project management software, specifically proficient in scheduling with MS Project.
· Experience in managing budgets is an asset.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
· Knowledge of applicable labor laws.
· Ability to work within tight timelines and a fluid and dynamic workforce to meet project goals and multiple changing deadlines effectively.
· Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
· Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
· Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
· Effective multi-tasking skills to collaborate with multiple teams within our organization.
