KWS Seeds Canada is searching for an experienced and motivated Business Specialist in Calgary, Alberta. This will be the sixth team member in Canada so working independently and having a broad range of leadership skills along with financial accounting and SAP experience will be critical. Reporting to the Country Manager, the person in this position will play an integral role in shaping and overseeing the accounting operations of KWS Seeds in Canada. Responsibilities will include the administration of budgets, forecasts, period closing, inventory position, subledger accounting, credit, and collections. Essential Job Functions:

• Selling expenses
• Collaborate with team and globe structures to develop best practices for financial administration of inventory.
• Benchmarking of sales, cost of sales, and gross margin
• Inventory and Receivables
• Build relationships with key suppliers and customers to better understand business and financial requirements needed for effective business operations
• Subledger and treasury
• Build relationships with Canadian team members as well as globally to ensure accurate and timely execution and reporting of finances
• P/L - sales, cost of sales, expenses, profit
• Customer sales and program management – credit, invoicing, program management, credit and rebill, inventory audit, and collections
• Cash flow plan and requirements
• General Tasks
• Office admin, purchasing, filing, contract management, financial compliance
• Co-develop budgets and forecasts with management, controlling and finance and provide financial input and guidance to both KWS Seeds Canada and KWS Group including:
• Collaborate with KWS global controlling and finance departments to ensure accurate and timely execution and balancing of payments and receivables
• Budgets and Forecasts
• Balance sheet – assets and liabilities
• Assist colleagues and support other duties as assigned
• Inventory payables, costing, pricing, including ERP management from parent seed acquisition through to production, processing, storage, logistics and sale of seed
• Collect and analyze inventory costs and procedures to ensure accurate and timely execution of accounting for inventory and sales
• Collaborate with team to ensure resources are managed efficiently and on budget while orders and payments are managed in a timely fashion
• KWS Seeds Canada and KWS Globe
• Current inventory, new production and sales planning

Required qualifications:

• Ability to travel domestically and abroad when necessary
• Superior written and oral communication skills with ability to develop and communicate on budgets, forecasts and processes
• Post-secondary education including a degree in business management in accounting
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deliverables with minimal supervision. Results oriented.
• Strong teamworking skills with the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships in Canada and abroad
• 10+ years of accounting experience with specific working knowledge in SAP and inventory cost accounting with demonstrated success. Experience in a production and retail environment is essential.
• Proficiency with SAP and SAP S4 systems and computing skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint)
