Business Intelligence Engineer Jobs

The Business Intelligence (BI) team works in an ongoing partnership with internal customers, maintaining in-depth knowledge of business operations, strategies, priorities, information and technology requirements to enable quality decision making.

The Business Intelligence ETL Developer will support the continual development of an enterprise-wide BI function, including building out the architecture, tools, and processes to report on business performance. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in writing code to deliver high-quality reports in a complex environment. It will also be vital for the candidate to bridge the technical world of data warehousing with the needs of the business by acting as an internal consultant to help answer challenging questions using their data expertise and technical know-how.

This role will report to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and will partner with our architecture team and business analyst teams to develop data based solutions in accordance with organizational priorities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Design and develop business critical reports and procedures by leveraging deep ETL skills and database knowledge

Work with business for deep dive analysis of existing reports

Support architectural decisions and tool selection

Job Requirements

Education, Experience and Technical skills

Bachelors or Masters degree in business, engineering, computer science or related fields is required

Highly familiar with business intelligence tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, SSRS, ETL, etc.)

5+ years of related experience in data analysis, reporting/metrics and decision-making support

Online business experience

Required Soft Skills and Competencies

A strong developer who thinks about issues from a business perspective with demonstrated ability to develop value added reports

Ability to work with business group leadership to provide analytical insight

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to implement best practices for software development and operations

Solid knowledge in business intelligence, web analytics, report development and working knowledge of data warehousing, modelling, and mining.

Deep skills in at least one of the following ETL tools: Integration Services of Microsoft SQL Server (aka SSIS), SSRS. Also, deep knowledge of Query Optimization.

Will need to have source and target experience with two of the following databases: Snowflake, SQL Server, MySql or Postgres

Hands-on experience on .NET C#

Nice to have: DBA skills, AWS, AZURE

Working Conditions (i.e. office environment, home, travel required

Hybrid office (1 day per week minimum) and remote.
