The Business Analyst, Enterprise Solutions is responsible for working with internal business clients, internal technical support and external vendor stakeholders to ensure Enterprise Solutions implementations, upgrades, enhancements and changes are well defined and appropriately implemented and supported.
Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the core responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
The Business Analyst, Enterprise Solutions is responsible for working with internal business clients, internal technical support and external vendor stakeholders to ensure Enterprise Solutions implementations, upgrades, enhancements and changes are well defined and appropriately implemented and supported.
Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the core responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
- Interacts with project teams, application teams, architects, and users.
- Defines and document detailed design requirements.
- Establishes systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness, and provides re-commendations to management personnel.
- Deliver solutions to business sponsors and stakeholders, employing Agile, Iterative and Predictive Delivery Lifecycles.
- Identifies and resolves business issues.
- Use of state diagrams and sequence diagrams to communicate system and entity lifecycles, and interaction.
- Analyzes business processes, functions and procedures to determine the most effective business systems technology to meet the needs of the business.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Responsible for creating functional and technical specifications/requirements documentation.
- Creates acceptance test plans and acceptance criteria.
- Support decisions made by stakeholders regarding priorities and trade-offs, through creation and communication of information that articulates benefits, constraints, risks, and complexity.
- Performs a liaison role between user areas to assist in the identification of process improvements, system design, testing and implementation of large and/or complex technical projects, often requiring coordination of multiple functional areas.
- Agile Delivery employing scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe.
- Formulates test plans, coordinate and perform testing.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for business applications and liaise with the IS Service Desk on incidents or service requests.
- Ability to make recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes.
- Coordinates implementation of the system hardware and software changes
- Configure and manage business applications per business and technical requirements.
- Participates in system development and design.
- Project management, meeting facilitation, and Project Life Cycle are required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with business systems in a medium to large organization.
- Experience with Cloud based applications and their support and implementation.
- Has a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the relevant business.
- Expertise in process design and documentation methodologies, and design and production of quality deliverables, process and use case modeling, business case development.
- Skill in systems testing of specification requirements.
- Ability to perform objective analysis and re-engineering of business processes to maximize quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Use of MS Office; Visio; SharePoint, MS Teams, Azure DevOps Boards, Atlassian Jira, or similar
- Skill in business or technical writing as evidenced by previous work-related experience.
- Ability to effectively participate in multiple major projects or project roles or lead a variety of project team activities/tasks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the automated business applications, their relationships to each other, and interfaces to outside systems
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, relational databases (Oracle, SQL-Server, etc.) and how they work.
- Ability in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is necessary.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Post-secondary graduate with a degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Evening and occasional weekend work may be required.
