Business Development Manager (Fastfrate Group, 3Pl)

Fastfrate Group has been providing industry-leading transportation services for more than 50 years. From what started out as an LTL over the road and intermodal carrier, Fastfrate has grown into a diverse group comprised of 6 companies operating out of 40 terminals and final mile hubs across Canada and into the USA. This evolution allows us to offer customers a full suite of asset-based transportation including over-the-road, cross border and intermodal LTL and TL, drayage and transload, warehousing, distribution, final mile, and logistics services.

Position Scope:

We are looking for a talented and competitive Business Development Manager (BDM) that will thrive in a quick sales cycle environment. Under the guidance of the VP of Sales, these BDM’s will play a vital role in supporting profitable sales growth. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as solid computer skills, time management, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work with all departments through on boarding of secured business
• Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
• Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals
• Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas.
• Understanding customer needs and requirements
• Identifying Sales Prospects for further development and closure
• Maintain and expand your database of prospects
• All other duties as assigned by VP of Sales
• Perform effective online demos to prospects
• Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails

Qualifications:

• Effective teamwork skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
• Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
• Strong communication, customer service and computer skills
• 2-3 Years of sales experience in 3PL/Brokerage
• Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM software
• Track record of over-achieving quota
• Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
• Proven Business Development Experience in the Transportation industry
