ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The position of Collections and Billing Manager is a pivotal role within our shared services team, with a direct reporting line to the Director of Finance. We are seeking a confident and dynamic individual to take ownership of improving, managing, and maintaining our collections and billing processes and systems. The successful candidate should have previous experience in a professional services environment, specifically in a role focused on accounts receivable.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As Collections and Billing Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

• Managing and reporting on special collection projects.
• Tracking, setting up, and monitoring special arrangements and special billing rates.
• Managing Accounts Administrator and Billing clerks.
• Undertaking other projects as required.
• Providing ad hoc and scheduled reporting.
• Updating, analyzing, and streamlining reporting for all key stakeholders and the Accounts Committee.
• Tracking contingency files.
• Reviewing and reporting on write-offs.
• Collaborating with cross-functional business stakeholders to streamline and modernize billing and collections processes and systems.
• Documenting and maintaining credit limit processes.
• Monitoring and maintaining credit limits.
• Managing reminders and follow-up of accounts receivable.
• Meeting with each billing lawyer periodically to review WIP, accounts receivable and trust balances.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to manage collections with initiative and drive.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts clearly and concisely.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• 5+ years of collections and billing experience as well as experience managing a large team
• Strong business and technology aptitude, coupled with a willingness to learn.
