- Prepare Leave of Absence forms for Group Benefits during an employee’s absence from work.
- Validate and process Benefits enrollments due to hires, job changes, transfers, terminations etc. and manage overrides for exceptions as applicable in HCM.
- Point of contact and accountability for group benefits and retirement plans for residences within a given platform.
- Maintain administrative packages for group benefits and retirement plans.
- Conduct audits pertaining to eligibility and participation.
- Maintain confidentiality of employees’ personal information.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Be the ambassador and role model with the community, residents, visitors, staff, and volunteers.
- Ensure RRSP Application forms are forwarded to vendor on a timely basis.
- Participate in the Leave process as determined by management.
- Validate and process Retirement plan enrollments as applicable in HCM.
- Participate in the semi-annual pro-rata process for applicable residences.
- Completion of a post secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business or other relevant field
- 2 - 4 years experience in benefit and retirement plan administration
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Computer literacy – proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word and Excel)
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of benefits impact to payroll
- Ability to prepare reports and present findings
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Excellent time management skills – the ability to multi-task, plan, and prioritize work
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Knowledge of a variety of benefit and pension plans
- Strong customer service focus – the ability to act tactfully, diplomatically and professionally
