AECOM is seeking a full-time Site Inspector/Contract Administrator to work at one of our municipal water infrastructure construction project sites (water treatment plant, reservoir and/or pumping station) based in the Greater Toronto Area.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Tracks quality assurance progress.
  • Participate in construction progress meetings.
  • Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection work logs.
  • Participate/coordinate in punch list preparation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate inspection needs and construction schedules, provide regular updates to project team, review and prepare contractor payment applications, and respond to RFI’s.
  • Liaise onsite with the Client, Contractor and other authorities, including addressing resident concerns.
  • Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project team members.
  • Coordinate the project close-out phase of projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have experience in a field role on municipal water infrastructure projects and experience providing contract administration and/or site inspection at municipal water infrastructure construction sites (e.g., water treatment plants, pumping stations and/or reservoirs)
  • Registered P.Eng. in Ontario or eligible within 12 months.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering + at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering construction drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate will be required to follow AECOM Safety Policies and promote them by example.
  • Understanding of construction project sequencing (e.g., mobilization, shop drawing reviews, construction, start-up and commissioning, project closeout, etc.)
  • Attention to detail is an essential skill.
  • Experience working around mobile heavy equipment.
  • Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services.
  • Proficient in common desktop packages (e.g., MS Word, Excel and Project).
  • 6+ years of experience in a field role on municipal water infrastructure projects and experience providing contract administration and/or site inspection at municipal water infrastructure construction sites (e.g., water treatment plants, pumping stations and/or reservoirs) with capex of $5M+.
