Dimensions

The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of key Asset Maintenance activities performed by and for Porcupine Gold Mines. They will report directly to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent and work closely with those responsible for Asset Management to ensure alignment with key organizational objectives.

Working in collaboration with Asset Maintenance Management groups and their Business Partners, the purpose of this role is to monitor and verify that key Asset Maintenance activities are effective, and validate that they

• Achieve the desired and expected results
• Are resourced sufficiently to enable effective completion
• Are cost effective and aligned to budgeted forecasts
• Are performed using safe work and environmental practices
• Are performed as expected and as scheduled
• Conform to applicable guidelines and standards

Ensuring high quality work scopes are created and that they are in place for those executing work will be key to being successful in this role. This will be accomplished by mandating effective inspections and work identification throughout Porcupine Operations, while tracking and reporting on compliance to expected asset maintenance execution deliverables and work management key performance indicators.

Essential Duties

• Reporting directly to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Asset Maintenance Coordinator represents Asset Maintenance Management through all facets of the business inclusive of Business Partners. They work with Supervisors to verify that work is properly resourced, executed as scheduled, and performed at the highest level of quality achievable to fulfil the operation’s Asset Management Strategy and Plans.
• Liaises with Mine Maintenance and Operations stakeholders as well as Reliability and Maintenance Engineering to monitor Asset Operation and Maintenance activities to identify maintenance improvement opportunities or efficiency enhancements, failure root causes, product defects as well as ensuring cost effectiveness and compliance.
• Prepare for and establishes controls to prevent environmental incidents and ensure prompt reporting and cleanup of spills or releases to environment
• Promotes the use of Fatality Risk Management by mentoring and leading Safety Initiatives, Risk Assessments, Incident Reporting, Inspections, and Investigations while ensuring timely follow-up and implementation of corrective actions and improvement measures.
• Communicates and Mentors supervisors and frontline workforce as well as their business partners on the fundamentals of Newmont’s Asset Management System. Recommends performance improvement actions for employees while participating in the Progressive Discipline and Performance Improvement Processes.
• Support Supervisors to organize and ensure timely execution of all Planned and Unplanned maintenance and inspection activities while ensuring the department focus on achieving Asset Management targets and objectives.
• Supports Asset Management Planning, Preparation, and Scheduling activities and acts as the subject matter expert to ensure sufficient quality work scope creation is achieved, and communicated to enable successful maintenance plans and schedules to be formulated and prepared for effective execution.
• Provides leadership and direction for maintenance crews, including holding meetings to ensure that employees are kept informed of Asset and Work Management performance inclusive of cost compliance to encourage growth and participation while driving improvements and prioritization to enable the organizational to achieve the full potential from its assets.
• Verifies that all employees inclusive of any business partners are working in compliance to Newmont’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines in addition to any applicable federal, provincial, or local Environmental, Occupational, and Health & Safety Acts, or Regulations.
• Work closely with Supply Chain and Central Asset Management groups to initiate inventory requests, forecast inventory consumption, and effectively manage inventory of repairable and rotable components.

Training & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing work management best practices in an underground mine with demonstrated experience mentoring and developing Supervisors and Subordinates
• Holds a Certificate of Competency in a relevant trade and/or an Engineering or Technology designation, accompanied by formal work experience relevant to Open Pit and Underground Mine Asset Maintenance Management.
• A minimum of 10 years of Asset Maintenance Management experience with surface and underground mining production and support equipment.
• Be technically competent, with the ability to listen, inspire and develop team members with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have SAP ERP experience at an advanced level, including proficiency with all modules associated with enterprise asset management and plant maintenance.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and be accustomed to leading, organizing, and chairing virtual meetings including creating and performing formal workshops and presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to continually improve, motivate, and effectively lead others to achieve individual and organizational objectives.

Working Conditions

This position supports our Borden operation in Chapleau ON. As such, the successful candidate will need to reside in Timmins and/or Chapleau.

The schedule is 4 days on 3 days off
