Our Opportunity


The ideal candidate will represent the Tim Hortons brand in our restaurants and lead a team of experienced managers to work with our restaurant owners, team members, and guests to ensure the highest level of performance. This position is field based, responsible for creating and executing tactical strategies in their region to implement company initiatives. The position directs the development of strategic and tactical relationships with current franchisee groups, drives processes and planning related to development (openings and remodels), finance, profitability, and operations. Analyzes potential growth strategies to ensure the development of a strong pipeline of new locations and/or remodel projects. Works with internal partners (market planning, system imaging and design teams) to implement business development initiatives, as well as cooperate in the identification/selection of new franchisee candidates. The selected applicant will also lead the on-boarding of new franchisees throughout the first few months of their experience.


Roles And Responsibilities


  • Responsible for finding solutions for existing franchisees to expand or develop the brand
  • Supporting operations with relevant tools and tactics to increase sales, improve profitability and maintain high operational standards
  • Optimizing franchise business performance that drives long term growth, and franchise business value
  • Responsible for developing strategic plans and proposals for business expansion activities
  • Accountable for the team deliverables and key performance metrics of the region
  • Responsible for expanding or managing the franchisee relationship
  • Lead a team of 3-4 Manager, Franchise Performance
  • Supporting delivery of world class operations and excellence at the Franchisees
  • Works with internal partners (marketing, finance, and operations) to implement business initiatives that drive business growth
  • Responsible for analyzing potential growth strategies to ensure the development of a strong pipeline


Required Skills


We are looking for candidates with a methodical problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of profit and loss statements and are used to work in fast-paced environments, under strict deadlines.


  • Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of successful deals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to provide coaching, advice, and assistance as required, helping subordinates overcome obstacles and deal with problems; ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years’ operational experience with P&L responsibility, preferably multi-unit experience in a national, franchise, high growth consumer or retail-based business
  • MBA or Executive MBA is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, hospitality, or related field
  • Valid driver's license and driving record within provincial guidelines.
  • Skilled in interacting effectively under difficult circumstances and tight deadlines
  • Restaurant, QSR, hospitality a strong asset
  • Experience with leading a team
  • Outstanding analytical skills and able to work under pressure
  • Proven track-record in leading a high performing team in a fast-paced environment
