Fleming and Baron (an ASSA ABLOY company) is recruiting an Accounting Specialist. This is an on-site position that will be based out of our manufacturing facility based in Woodbridge, Ontario.
ASSA ABLOY is a leading manufacturer of steel doors and frames for healthcare, institutional, commercial and industrial markets. Our custom and standard hollow metal doors and frames have been used in hospitals, universities, hotels, stadiums and many other projects that require a full range of safety, security, and aesthetic requirements.
What would you do as our Accounting Specialist?
In this role, you will own the full life cycle of the accounts payable function and help to support and maintain the day-to-day accounting function. You will enter data into daily worksheets and into the general ledger system, while ensuring all files are complete and maintained with the utmost integrity.
You would also:

• Assess tax information to ensure compliance with the Tax Act
• Own the full life cycle of the Accounts Payable function including c hecking, verifying and processing invoices, ensuring compliance, preparing payments for signature, sorting and coding data, analyzing discrepancies and unpaid invoices, and maintaining vendor files.
• Other projects and assignments, as needed.
• Participate in a safe and harmonious working environment.
• Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
• Provide general Ledger analysis.
• Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations.
• Perform administrative duties as needed to support the Finance team.
• Assist with month-end financial statements.

What we are looking for:

• Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping
• 3 - 5 years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Comfortable utilizing Excel (intermediate to advanced skills)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, databases, and accounting software
• Previous working knowledge of SAP and an ERP system would be a plus.
• Excellent communication and time management skills
