Cardinal Health Canada is currently seeking a Vice President, Sales & Commercial (Ontario & West Region) to lead all commercial activity, Sales Teams of Hospital Sales Executives, Cardinal Brand Sales Representatives and Account Management for their large multi-provincial Region. This highly visible role will focus on driving profitable growth for the Cardinal Health portfolio of Solutions, Products and our distribution business of national brands. The VP will have full top-to-bottom P&L responsibility for all Commercial activity in their regions in Canada. This highly strategic role will also lead the continued evolution of our current business model to expend Cardinal Health presence at the C-Suite and Government levels while driving penetration of Cardinal Health Services & Solutions. This role will work to accelerate market share gains and maximize product mix. The VP drives all commercial and sales efforts while overseeing the management of business development operations and strategy execution. The VP will work cross functionally with Marketing, Operations and Commercial Excellence maintaining dotted line reporting responsibility with members of each of these organizations aimed at providing an extreme focus on our customers. This role is key to unlocking our strategic opportunities and is critical in positioning Cardinal Health in the market.

Summary
The Vice President Sales & Commercial Strategy is responsible for defining commercialization strategies and executing to deliver aspirational growth of the business. Reporting to the President, this role will serve as a member of the Canadian Leadership team. The position owns national/regional (Ontario & West Regions) commercial strategies, a large Sales team and partnerships with Operations, Commercial Excellence and Marketing in each region. Associated sales teams are primarily accountable for new sales, renewals and Solution selling spanning Cardinal Health Brand products, Distribution and Services and Solutions. This role is highly accountable to our customers and must put them at the center of all decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, talent management and culture building across the Canada business.
- Lead the creation of new commercial growth initiatives to expand our presence with healthcare providers and manufacturers, including new businesses models and teams.
- Drive engagement with key healthcare provider C-suite leadership, including Operational, Clinical, Financial and Technical accountabilities.
- Deliver against financial commitments.
- Lead Government Relations strategy and connections with key government leaders across Canada.
- Set vision and commercial strategy for large Sales team, under multiple Directors, targeting aggressive sales growth targets annually.
- Participate, as a leader, in the financial deal modeling and contracting process.
- Develop & lead a high performance & accountability sales culture.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the industry, including key competitors, technology, trends, challenges, funding and government regulation; demonstrate advanced knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings deliver value for our customers.
- Develop best practices for pipeline cultivation, complex customer buy-cycle management, and deal closure.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer's successes, challenges, and strategic objectives; drawing from experience and significant financial acumen to recognize and provide advice regarding potential opportunities
- Act as One Cardinal Health with firm line reporting for Sales and dotted line for local Operations, Customer Care, Marketing and Customer Success associates.
- Lead Cardinal Health GPO strategy for the two largest GPOs in Canada.
Experience & Requirements
- Change management experience. High level of leadership competency, with ability to inspire and mobilize a large organization through periods of continuous change and transformation
- 8+ years of leadership/management experience
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, Master’s degree preferred
- Impressive communication and negotiating skills adept at all levels of C-suite provider leadership (Clinical, Supply Chain, and Finance)
- Experience with solution-based selling
- Challenge status quo, ability to develop new strategy and related plans and ensure flawless execution
- Strategic planning and execution of transformational growth initiatives
- Knowledge of Medical Supply Distribution, Cardinal Health and industry strongly preferred

- Strong Healthcare industry business acumen, network, and passion for building long term customer relationships
- Strong financial acumen with previous experience managing a complex P&L
- Travel at approximately 25%-50%. The position is located in Ontario or the West Region.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing best practices in hiring, training, and executing in a rapid growth environment
- 15 years healthcare sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated successful track record delivering sales and operating income results above budget expectations
