Job Description

Vice-President of Inventory Planning


THE COMPANY:

Our client is a fast-growing distributor headquartered in Richmond, BC, with offices in the Toronto area as well as in Calgary. The company is experiencing rapid growth and needs a leader who can standardize supply chain processes and implement planning software while developing a strong team.


THE OPPORTUNITY:

The primary focus of this role is to provide outstanding service to key clients, which means maintaining 100% in-stock inventory levels. This could be challenging, as this 100% in-stock target needs to be maintained despite shipping delays and supplier shortages, so a strong background in inventory planning and demand planning is required.


You will provide strategic leadership for a team of 2 senior planners and 4 replenishment analysts, optimizing inventory and issuing purchase orders for 1000 sku’s across 5 DC’s. This role involves extensive collaboration with other departments at the company, so strong communication skills are a must.


New planning software is being implemented this year, so are looking for an individual experienced with planning software, ideally looking for implementation experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interface with all levels and positions within the organization and build collaboration.
  • 10+ years supply chain planning experience in a retail environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Business or Engineering, with MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze data, form conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Experience with inventory planning software implementation and optimization.
  • Certifications such as SCMA, CSCP, CPIM, Six Sigma a plus
  • Proven ability to lead change, implement processes for inventory planning and replenishment.

SALARY RANGE: $160K-$180K range plus bonus. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
