Vice President Of Purchasing

AWS/CES is looking for a VP of Purchasing in the Detroit Area.

Salary $200K+

This would be for an automotive manufacturing company.

Must be comfortable with international travel

Responsibilities:

• Lead group Procurement procedures.
• Set annual cost savings targets and track achievements.
• Support M&A due diligence.
• Provide guidance during critical supplier negotiations.
• Coordinate supplier negotiations for optimal commercial agreements.
• Contribute to Supplier Quality Systems and Process improvement.
• Manage departmental budgets and assigned tasks.
• Develop and manage cost models and global parts comparison library.
• Assist in supply crisis management and new technology development.
• Optimize supplier selection for quoting and new business opportunities.
• Oversee ERP systems, including supplier setup and terms.
• Enhance the competence of group buyers through mentoring and skill development.

Performance Expectations:

• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Responsive to stakeholders, strong time management, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Financial and currency understanding.
• Business degree.
• Proficient in negotiation and best practice tactics.
• 10 years of Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations experience.
