Brookfield Place - 181 Bay Street

Brookfield Culture

Brookfield has a unique and dynamic culture. We seek team members who have a long-term focus and whose values align with our Attributes of a Brookfield Leader: Entrepreneurial, Collaborative and Disciplined. Brookfield is committed to the development of our people through challenging work assignments and exposure to diverse businesses.

The Brookfield Private Funds Group compromises ~140 people and focuses on all products across the four assets of BAM. The team does all the fundraising and client service for each of the groups and is typically responsible for bringing more than ten funds to market a year. Additionally, the Client Relationship Management (“CRM”) team is a global group that works across the following geographies: North America, UK and Europe, Middle East, and APAC.

We are looking for a Vice President of CRM within Canada’s Family Office Community.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the marketing strategy and positioning of both the specific Funds and overall Firm
  • Coordinate with the broader Brookfield team on family offices in order to efficiently coordinate the messaging and marketing of the firm and its products
  • Initiating new relationships with family offices who allocate or will soon allocate to private funds that invest in strategies consistent with Brookfield’s platforms
  • Manage investor relationships throughout the extended lifecycle of the relationship by providing exceptional client service
  • Define the market and develop a marketing strategy targeting the family office segment, primarily in Canada
  • Work closely with investment professionals to develop talking points tailored to the specific needs of a family office audience
  • Stay up to date on current events and trends within the family office segment in order to serve as the primary source of market intelligence
  • Educate members of the family office on the firm’s investment opportunities, relative positioning in the market and competitive advantages
  • Navigate multi-faceted due diligence and negotiation processes
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback from family offices to Brookfield. Leverage this information to assist in new product development and overall strategic planning
  • “Voice of the Firm” - single avenue for BAM’s existing and prospective family office investors to be connected to the firm’s multiple platforms and across all interactions (funds, co-investment opportunities as well as all ongoing relationship matters)
  • Raise capital/secure new funds for investment through:
  • Respond to family offices’ needs and provide insights and perspective on the market broadly and the asset classes specifically
  • Establish credibility as an informed specialist and relationship manager for each of BAM’s investment opportunities
  • Deepening relationships with existing family offices through strategic cross-selling of Brookfield products and seeking to ensure renewal of capital allocation to Brookfield funds over time
  • Educate Brookfield, including investment professionals, on the family office dynamics
  • Contribute to the marketing strategy and brand building initiatives of Brookfield within the family office community and assisting in the organization of events

Candidate Profile

  • High energy, driven and proactive
  • Strong existing network with family offices throughout Canada
  • Detail oriented, with impeccable professional and personal standards for self and others
  • Extensive experience with at least one of the following products: private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and/or renewables
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of two to three years of IR and fundraising
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with family offices and a track record of conversion to fund commitments
  • Integrity, intellectual curiosity, humility, initiative, and a strong work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented and willing to pitch in and support others
  • Analytical; both quantitative and qualitative
  • Experience building and maintaining best-in-class Investor Relations processes
