About the Role:
Avicanna’s commercial department is looking for driven and experienced Territory Manager (Ontario) to lead sales efforts across Avicanna’s four brands RHO Phyto, Pura Earth, Viola and Replay within the adult-use legal cannabis network of Ontario. This will include establishing new partnerships with Ontario cannabis retailers, managing existing relationships and driving product distribution & sales.

We are seeking highly-motivated business development professional who is driven, ambitious, competitive, resilient, can think critically and analytically, a self-starter, independent, entrepreneurial, solution-oriented, and has leadership ambitions to join our team to manage our sales efforts for our commercial portfolio province-wide. This role is responsible for ensuring corporate sales objectives are met in the adult-use channel. It will focus on establishing and driving provincial sales, tracking processes, managing relationships with new and existing key and independent retailers and building out sales for four active brands. We are looking for a person who is passionate about the benefits of cannabis from medical, wellness and lifestyle perspectives with experience in customer service and who is motivated by the challenge of contributing to a growing portfolio of brands.
Reporting to the VP of Commercialization
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and Lead Ontario Adult-Use Sales
- Work in the field 3-4 days/week and in the office 1-2 days/week, to meet and exceed projected sales targets, based on past sales and future targets
- Work with the senior management team to set revenue and sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis
- Participate in industry events and represent Avicanna in a professional manner
- Support pipeline and planning of product launches
- Manage and collaborate with marketing team to ensure all retail partners are fully educated on our product portfolio
- Analyze the total territory and each account to determine the priority selling, identify promotional and merchandising opportunities and execute in collaboration with the Marketing Team
- Ensure accurate reporting on lead generation and sales efforts on a weekly basis
- Establish and implement sales and commercial planning across adult-use business units in Ontario with various departments including marketing, finance and operations
- Travel (drive) to meet with potential and existing clients, as well as field sales staff (up to 40% of the time)
- Participate in “Pop-ups” and Product Education Sessions with retailers to support new product launches and product sell-through with key retailers
- Execute and update sales processes, including events, training, and key tracking documents
- Maintain thorough understanding of promotional regulations and participate in occasional sales meetings and on-site training, when required
- Set and track monthly sales quotas and relevant budget KPIs for reporting to management
- Track retailer engagement (store outreach, soft commitments, success of load-in/sell-through, POS materials, etc.) and cultivate relationships with store owners, managers and budtenders
- Other duties as assigned
- Contribute to the development of new programs to meet the needs of our channel partners and help them exceed revenue expectations with our products
Minimum Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of cannabis – strains, effects, methods of consumption, accessories
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage all inputs and track sales efforts
- Working knowledge and proficiency in computer skills, including full MS Office Suite
- CannSell certified
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and CannSell certification
- Time management skills are a major asset
- Existing cannabis retail network is preferred
- 3 years cannabis account management and retail sales experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing or related discipline – biology or science-based degree a plus
- Ability to manage, optimize and identify opportunities with partners, members, process enhancement and program growth
- Skilled at building rapport, opening doors, and understanding business requirements of senior decision makers
- Ability to work weekends (occasionally) for important events
- Ability to analyze, develop and execute a pre-sales strategy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
