Job Description
Certarus is the North American leader in providing low carbon energy solutions through a fully integrated compressed natural gas (CNG), renewable natural gas (RNG), and hydrogen platform. The company safely delivers clean-burning fuels to industrial customers not connected to a pipeline.


By displacing more carbon-intensive fuels, Certarus is leading the energy transition and helping customers lower operating costs and improve environmental performance. Summary:


The sales team is looking for a new member to develop the future growth strategy in the region. The successful candidate will demonstrate industry leading outside sales management skills and is responsible for maximizing revenue by creating, managing, and implementing best in class sales development activities to maximize growth. This position will require collaboration with our engineering and operations teams to help provide solutions for our customers. This role will be a home-based sales position with regular travel.


Schedule:


  • Travel to Certarus and customer locations in Northwestern Ontario is expected
  • The schedule follows normal business hours, with extra work hours when required.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Understand negotiations and profitability analysis processes.
  • Foster strong relationships with local Indigenous communities which could evolve into partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work closely with operations and support functions to recommend solutions that best fit customer requirements.
  • Achieve volume and margin sales targets for compressed natural gas to commercial and industrial markets.
  • Develop strong relationships with key accounts to maintain a high level of service and client loyalty.
  • Work closely with Certarus RNG and hydrogen groups to develop those markets.


Requirements:


  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience in fuel distribution and/or industrial sales.
  • Understanding of and prior experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment requiring relationship development.
  • Experience developing and implementing a pricing strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or commensurate experience
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and supporting the development and delivery of new products.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to manage relationships and interact with all levels.
  • +5 years of experience in a related role preferred.
  • Experience in negotiating contract terms, i.e., T&Cs, NDAs, Master Service Agreements, Supply Agreements, etc.
  • Prior experience with mining, forestry, utility, power generation, road construction and/or other industrial sectors is an asset.
