Qualcomm Automotive team is rapidly expanding to offer optimized solutions for infotainment and ADAS/Autonomous Driving. To scale and strengthen our offering in this domain, we are seeking strong Technical Engineering Leads and Project Engineers at multiple levels who enjoy working with cutting edge technologies, in a super-charged fast-paced environment.
The Technical Engineering Leads role in Qualcomm requires managing and mentoring multiple software developers and/or teams across multiple geographies. You will be expected to drive embedded software development throughout the lifecycle and be a subject matter expert. We are seeking experts in ideally driver development and camera, display, graphics, videos and/or multimedia.
This is a high-impact and visible role responsible for successful product launches by partnering with Product, Program, Business and Engineering teams and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

The Lead Engineer Shall

• Oversee software development planning and execution and drive the product delivery in alignment with leading edge Automotive OEMs
• Champion continuous process improvements across various stages in the development lifecycle, including participation in process and project audits, driving process maturity metrics.
• Participate to software development throughout entire lifecycle across multiple technologies
• Own and drive product definition and requirements for the software product.
• Coordinate end-to-end architecture and design, including considerations for functional-safety and cybersecurity

Ideal Candidate Shall Possess The Following Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and enable teams to solve sophisticated challenges across SoC, Hardware and Software.
• Proven hands-on and self-driven ability to boot-strap, define, and deliver into successful products.
• Good understanding of Automotive standards such as ASPICE and ISO26262
• Strong understanding of software engineering tools and workflows.
• Experience in communicating and coordinating with clients and customers on technical issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational abilities.
• 10+ years of Systems Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Proven experience in developing software for real time embedded systems in automotive electronics with good understanding of SoC architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to translate and navigate business and customer goals into actionable engineering and technology solutions.

Required Skills

• Extensive embedded software engineering background and experience
• In-depth understanding of one or more key technology areas is expected (e.g. OS/BSP/Hypervisors, Camera/ISP/Image sensors, SoC architecture, RTOS).
• Proven development experience on big scale drivers in RTOS and Linux ecosystems

Preferred Skills

• Experience delivering large scale SW for Automotive ADAS/Compute or Infotainment programs.
• Programming experience with popular sensor modules
• Working knowledge of popular automotive SERDES
• Strong understanding of Camera ISP features and functionalities
• Camera tuning experiences and working knowledge
