Technical Support Engineer/ Field Application Engineer

Ubiik is the largest AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) vendor in Taiwan having won 4 consecutive AMI tenders from 2018 to 2022 to deploy 1.16Mn smart metering system for Taiwan Power Company. Its success is based upon Ubiik’s breakthrough Weightless LPWAN technologies and its vertical solution business models combining UEs, base station, core network, PaaS platform, and cloud application. Since 2019, Ubiik started developing its private LTE technologies and in Feb 2022 it has announced its goRAN LTE-M/NB-IoT Base Station aiming to serve the utility market around the world.

To expand our business in the US, we are looking for askilled and motivated Technical Support Engineer/ Field Application Engineer to join our team to provide technical support and expertise to our customers in this space. This role would be reported to the CEO, working hybrid and based in Vancouver.

【Role Responsibilities】

70% Technical Support

• Perform system testing and validation, including lab and field trials, to ensure successful deployment and operation of LTE products
• Actively assist and investigate in the technical development of customer solutions with the Engineer team
• Act as the technical point of contact for customers and ecosystem partners and provide timely and effective resolution of technical issues
• Document customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions in our CRM system
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and standards, and provide input on product development and roadmap based on customer feedback
• Document customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions
• Work closely with customers and ecosystem partners to understand their technical requirements and help them design, deploy, and optimize our LTE products and solutions
• Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and upgrades to customers
• Providing technical support and expertise to our customers and field teams to ensure the successful deployment and operation of our LTE products and solutions

30% Sales/ project Support

• Conduct product technical demonstrations and trainings for Ubiik’s products to corporates clients or business partners
• Support field deployments from pilot stage to large-scale
• Lead the technical communication with potential customers thought virtual or in-person meeting
• Work closely with the Business Development/ Sales team in US to identify customer needs and provide technical solutions
• Act as a technical representative for supporting Ubiik’s products sales pitch
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, and other stakeholders

Requirements:

• Excellent programming skills for building validation, configuration, and management tools
• Hands-on experience with LTE network testing tools and software, such as protocol analyzers, test equipment, and RF measurement tools
• Previously work in Startup environment would be a plus
• Experience in technical demonstrations to corporate clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers
• Experience in cloud and SIM management platforms for LTE business is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in LTE-M/NB-IoT system engineering, with expertise in LTE-M/NB-IoT modules and base stations
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and priorities, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Travel requirement : approximately 20%, occasionally travel to customer sites and practicate in industry events to promote company products and services is required
