What You Can Expect
The Field Application Engineer will oversee the application of new and in-service products used in our commercial and industrial portfolio of customers. The primary activities will be to plan field trials in conjunction with the Fuchs sales force and customer prior to product introduction, including the setting of trial protocols, measurement of performance, field support and data collection over the course of the trial period. The position will also include periodic measurement of product groups already in service and recommending improvements in product performance.
Specific Responsibilities Will Include

• Interfacing directly with customers to better understand their needs and to gain product approvals
• Write field reports that are clear and concise.
• Interface directly with customers to better understand their needs and demonstrate the company's commitment to ongoing product development.
• Building productive relationships across the organization and contribute as needed for strategy development and project execution.
• Identify market-driven needs for new product development.
• Collaborate with the sales & product management team to create an environment for win-win partnership agreements to foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with target accounts.
• Serving as a Company expert in the respective product applications space
• Build productive relationships across the organization and contribute as needed to strategy development and project execution.
• Respond to technical service issues from existing customers utilizing existing products.
• Providing input for new product development projects with Product Managers and R&D
• Delivering knowledge of the competitive landscape
• Providing sales support, including site delivery support of niche product applications
• Supporting strategic business development efforts related to sales campaigns
• Acting as a technical advisor and liaison to the lab
• Providing application know how (product recommendations, business development assistance, technical problem solving, product training to customers and company sales representatives)
• Contributing content for new product launch and product marketing activities
• Evaluate new products for suitable performance during field trials.

Travel

• 80%-90% travel, mainly within Western Canada

What We Expect

• Knowledge of lubricant application, use, and maintenance.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, make decisions with good judgment, think strategically to identify opportunities, and lead initiatives within a self-directed project team.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in French and English.
• The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor‘s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience demonstrating a high aptitude of mechanical ability.
• At least three years of experience in the commercial and industrial segments, demonstrating success in roles such as field service, technical sales, or management of lubricants within customer sites.
• Certified Lubrication Specialist - STLE
• Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products
