Microchip’s Analog and Interface Power Division (APID) provides solutions for power conversion and system interfacing that complement Microchip’s wide variety of products, such as SiC MOSFETs and motor control devices. The power conversion portfolio includes a wide range of products including linear regulators, FET and motor drivers, switch-mode controllers, switching regulators, and integrated power modules. APID is currently looking for a Technical Staff Application Engineer focused on SiC MOSFET and motor drivers. As a member of the application engineering team, a successful applicant will be involved in the defining, developing, and technical support focused on MOSFET, SiC MOSFET, and motor drivers.
Responsibilities

• Support cross functional new product development teams to take new product ideas from initial concept to product release with system level validation and bench testing.
• Drive technical discussions with customers to promote Microchip’s solutions and help expand business to new markets.
• Create application notes, reference designs, and other material to support customers.
• Work with customers, other Microchip business units, and Product Line Marketing to define new and innovative products.
• Provide technical guidance and support for Microchip’s FAE team.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Works effectively in a team environment
• Excellent customer interaction and support skills.
• Bachelors or Master’s in Electrical Engineering degree with 12+ years of experience in the power electronics or motor control industry.
• Knowledge of switch mode power supplies.
• Knowledge of electric drive systems.
