Staff Technical Project Manager
We are looking for a highly motivated, “hands-on” individual to manage our Technical Project Management Team. The Staff Technical Project Manager will oversee all projects involving the design and build of a new generation of high speed, automated manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate has the technical acumen to be able to communicate effectively with internal teams, excellent time management and leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have exposure in managing a large-scale project team while simultaneously driving process improvements to improve operational efficiency. What You’ll Do

• Prepare and present high level program updates to Senior Leaders.
• Coordinate major equipment purchases & logistics including cost, schedule, delivery methods, payment terms etc.
• Function as escalation point for project related concerns, ensuring all issues are rapidly responded to.
• Participate in the preparation and approval of system documentation packages.
• Drive continuous improvement as well as new initiatives to improve project management process, standards, and policies.
• Participate in and champion machine compliance efforts (UL, CE, NFPA79, etc.).
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the Project Management Office, ensuring all escalations are addressed and operations move at pace with the ramping facilities.
• Monitor, audit, report and expedite critical tasks to maintain overall project book costs & schedules and report/resolve issues as they arise.
• Foster and develop a strong team of Technical Project Managers through training and coaching. Tasks include proactively planning resources, communicating job expectations, providing performance feedback and managing the team in line with Tesla’s policies.
• Establish and continuously support the program roadmap by defining, prioritizing, and developing new and existing projects.
• Continuously evaluate project performance metrics such as real time cost, technical and operational risk, resource allocation, scheduling, and feedback.
• Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, inventory, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality control, as well as cross functional teams on the production facility side

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to travel internationally (30%).
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills as well as the ability to work and manage time independently.
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, etc.
• BS/MS/Diploma Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent majors in: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, etc.)
• Strong computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Tools.
• 6+ years of Project Management experience in a relatable field.
• Comfortability presenting in front of Senior Leadership teams.
• Significant exposure to manufacturing and machine building environments.
• Exposure to Autocad, Solidworks, eDrawings, MS Project, Bluebeam, Confluence and Jira are an asset.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Project.
