Job Overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist II will focus on attracting and recruiting talent for vacant roles at Wawanesa. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will require limited supervision and work directly with Hiring Managers and across functional teams to drive effective recruitment practices and with candidates to deliver a best in class experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching to managers in effective behavioural interviewing, compliant interviewing protocol, and effective candidate screening techniques.
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment for vacant positions from attraction, to sourcing, interviewing, assessments, background checks and offers of employment.
  • Audit for diversity and inclusion at each stage in the recruitment process.
  • Ensure a comprehensive attraction strategy; advertising of job vacancies on job boards, professional associations, universities and colleges, social media, social recruiting tools, etc.
  • Keep requisitions up to date in the Talent Acquisition System documenting notes, progress and status / step changes.
  • Develop, implement and maintain talent acquisition and sourcing strategies.
  • Attend external recruitment events (e.g. campus fairs, career fairs, and networking events) and participate as a company representative.
  • Source active and passive candidates for current vacancies
  • Maintain communication with applicants and hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Participate on interview panels where Hiring Managers require support and additional perspective
  • Generate employment offer documents and other related materials for distribution to applicants and hiring managers.
  • Prepare salary recommendations and collaborate with HR Representatives on the development of new hire total rewards packages.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Hiring Managers and HR Representatives.
  • Screen incoming and on-file applicant resumes, conduct initial phone screens and assess for job and organizational fit.
  • Administer psychometric assessments and background checks
  • Monitor recruitment results against Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications
  • Excellent MS Office skills, and experience in Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Bilingual in French & English is a strong asset
  • Certified Professional in Human Resources or an accredited Recruiter designation
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels while fostering positive working relations
  • Completion of post-secondary education
  • Sound problem-solving skills that can identify and assess issues
  • A team player that can work in a collaborative environment
  • A true desire to learn and improve continuously
  • Critical thinking skills and strong project management skills
  • 4+ years of experience working in full-cycle recruitment, either in-house or in an agency environment
