Job Description

You Will:
  • Maintain and regularly audit our centers of information (e.g. Guru) and partner with different teams to ensure there is a mutual flow of information to ensure the most up-to-date information is available to our employee base
  • Support with pre-boarding activities for new hires, provide guidance and assistance to new and existing BenchSciers on programs, policies and offerings (e.g. parental leave, time off, perks and benefits) and be the first point of contact for HR related inquiries in #help-people Slack channel
  • Elevate our team by quickly identifying and addressing inefficiencies in Talent Management coordination activities
  • Participate in Talent Management activities (e.g. Talent Reviews, Calibrations) from a note taking and reporting perspective, with occasional direct involvement as a stretch initiative
  • Regularly update our HRIS with employee changes and support the Talent Management team with requests related to employment verifications, letter creation (e.g. employment letters, travel letters for immigration, salary changes, promotions), and other related talent-facing support tasks
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Talent Acquisition and Talent Business Partners to ensure excellent employee experiences
  • Extend our capacity by managing projects or initiatives within the Talent Management scope and build trust with the broader business by being highly responsive, moving with speed and urgency, and being able to pivot based on dynamic business needs.
You Have:
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment on highly complex, matrixed projects and initiatives build on partnerships rather than top-down reporting structures
  • Ability to travel on occasion (>10%) for team building exercises and project-based initiatives
  • An obsession with organization and efficiency; you are able to create holistic, relevant systems out of chaos
  • Experience in a SaaS start-up or understanding of a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and processes and employment legislation (Canada, UK, US) an asset
  • Ability to become a trusted resource and develop relationships based on trust, this role will be privy to highly sensitive information
  • 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably as an HR professional or in a customer service role; a people-first mentality is critical
