Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Strategic Talent Management Office is looking to hire an Early Talent Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, New Talent Programs, this role will contribute to the development of program materials including presentations, communications, data collection and reporting. This role will also coordinate program activities and support continuous improvement of the program through collection of data, analysis of KPI’s, and gathering feedback from stakeholders. Additionally, this role will support the implementation of recruitment strategies related to the various new talent programs and support ongoing engagement of program participants and stakeholders.
What will I be doing?
- Support the development of program materials including presentations, communications, and data collection to enable the effective implementation and management of New Talent programs.
- Assist in the execution of Metrolinx’s New Talent recruitment strategy by coordinating program details with the Talent Acquisition team. Support with talent acquisition activities as required.
- Prepare program operational and performance reporting including Key Performance Indictors (KPIs) and updates to the Senior Management Team (SMT), and regularly update program control boards.
- Triage and coordinate responses to program related inquiries from students and other internal stakeholders (e.g., hiring managers, human resources business partners).
- Support program participants including students and hiring managers as required to ensure active participation in Program activities and events that contribute to participant development and experience.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance the participant and manager experience, leader engagement and program operations.
- Coordinate program activities such as orientation, social/development events, surveys, presentations, and performance management for each of the new talent cohorts to ensure program participants are well informed of program details, actively engaged and actively managed throughout the duration of the program.
- Develop and execute Program alumni activities to contribute to program objectives.
What skills & qualifications do I need?
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with program development and coordination.
- Completion of a diploma in Human Resources, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Interpersonal, oral/written communication to effectively communicate with employees, assist or deliver presentations, and respond to requests for information from stakeholders.
- Previous experience with campus recruitment.
- Knowledge of Human Resources legislation (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.).
- Experience in research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills to work independently and prioritize daily requirements with limited supervision.
- Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
