Afro Canadian Development Inc. is in search of a dedicated and proactive Programs & Events Coordinator to join our supportive and inclusive team. We are eager to collaborate with someone who can independently drive initiatives, take charge, and offer innovative ideas to ensure the success of our programs.
Who we are:
Afro Canadian Development Inc. (Charity #846527919RR0001), is a registered charity organization serving refugees, immigrants, and less privileged communities in GTA focusing on four major areas: settlement, mental health, education and stronger communities. We aim to have a lasting, long-term positive change in the lives of newcomers, immigrants, refugees, the homeless, and less privileged people living in Ontario, Canada. Our initiatives are also largely focused on serving the vulnerable community.
Duties & Responsibilities:
A Programs & Events Coordinator is someone who will manage and oversee our organization’s programs and events. His/her duties and responsibilities entail:
- Planning and executing programs and events
- Contribute new ideas for our programs/ vents /initiatives
- Communicating with potential support partners for outreach and collaboration opportunities
- Work closely with volunteers and program attendees to ensure the successful and smooth operation of planned projects
- Maintain strong relationships with program partners and communicate program updates and reporting
- Promote the programs and events on social media and the website
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess valuable experience in charity organizations or possess an academic background in non-profit management, social work, event management, or fundraising.
Additionally, they should exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent research capabilities. Their interpersonal and networking skills should be robust, and they should have a good understanding of fundraising and project management.
The candidate should be adept at working independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in MS tools, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is necessary. A confident, self-motivated individual who can thrive with minimal supervision is desired.

Shift Time: 10 AM – 5 PM
Location: 1270 Finch Avenue West, Unit 18, North York, ON M3J 3J7
Salary: $18.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
